Big Map FS19: A Review

When I first started exploring Big Map FS19, I was immediately struck by its dense vegetation and varied terrain. The number of large, tall bushes covering the landscape made it difficult to see more than a few meters ahead, which added to the sense of immersion and realism.

However, as I continued to walk around the terrain, I began to feel suffocated by the sheer amount of vegetation. While the pine trees were well-done, their uniform scale and type started to feel repetitive. Adding random types and scales would greatly improve the landscape's diversity.

Despite this, the view distance was blocked by the vegetation, making it difficult to see far ahead. However, this also created a natural-looking environment that felt busy and immersive.

The roads on Big Map FS19 were another notable feature. While they were well-made with paved surfaces and center lines, the edges were covered in cobblestones, which looked somewhat out of place. The trees, while sparse, were scattered throughout the terrain, with some areas having clusters around roads.

One town I visited in the southwestern part of the map was a bit lacking in terms of visuals, but it was still functional and had proper streets. I appreciated this over some other maps that have cramped, fenced-in cities.

The number of trees on the map was impressive, even if there wasn't a real forest. The object types were varied, and they were randomized in orientation and size/scale, which added to the realism.

One issue I did encounter was the presence of map marker locations in German, which may be a challenge for non-German speakers. Additionally, some areas felt like prisons, such as the industrial zone and grain silo that were fenced off.

The ridiculous-looking castles and church in the center of the terrain were also somewhat jarring, but I suppose it's fitting for a farming simulation game or World of Warcraft.

In terms of gameplay, Big Map FS19 has its strengths. The trees can be sold and used to start missions and earn money, which is a great way to progress through the game.

However, there are some issues with the terrain edge. There is a fake mountain range that can be seen from any distance, which creates a sense of claustrophobia and makes me feel like I'm living in a prison with walls.

Overall, Big Map FS19 is a solid map that has its strengths and weaknesses. While it may not be perfect, it's definitely worth exploring and playing on.
